Should JGit have its own forum? [message #1061399] Fri, 31 May 2013 09:17 Go to next message

JGit is used in lots of contexts that have nothing to do with EGit, and the JGit questions that appear here are usually independent of EGit.

Similarly, in most cases EGit questions raised here are of no particular interest to someone using JGit in another context.

Maybe this means we should have a forum for each? Personally I'm interested in both and would follow both but local evidence suggests to me that I'm in the minority. Among the other developers I know who follow this forum, all of them are interested in one of the two but not both.

I would definitely be in favor of separate forums. I am a user of EGit, but do not develop in Java at all. JGit questions are completely irrelevant to me.
