Error "Timeout received before confirming the posted event" while testing by remote deskto [message #1004083] Tue, 22 January 2013 09:52 Go to next message

Hello Jubula team,

Could you please elucidate why does such error occur under the following circumstances?
I used swing sample adder from Jubula distributive to reproduce.
Scenario: replace text in 'value1' and 'value2' fields and press button '='.
Repeated on data set with 10 rows.
Workstation with Win7 x64

Scenario 1: directly log in the workstation. Start test case.
Observed: No problems.

Scenario 2: log in the workstation via remote desktop client from workstation in local network (minimal latency). Start test case.
Observed: No problems.

Scenario 3: log in the workstation via remote desktop client from workstation in network located very far away (rather big latency with ping about 150-300 ms). Start test case.

Observed: not always but very often steps with text replacing fail with error "Timeout received before confirming the posted event"
Another problem that also often appears: Jubula reports action as successfull, but actually action is not performed: it can be button click, or slection of tree node with numver of clicks = 2, etc.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

You're running into the same problems we also had with remote desktop... that's why we moved to virtual machines. Especially if the latency is big, it's fair to say that our actions will notice it too. I'm afraid I can't offer any other help than that...

Best regards,
Alex

You should try VNC, in this case the graphical session is not managed remotely but locally, you're just connecting to it with a client.
