Hi,
Column mode select in Eclipse means, first Alt+Shift+A, then you can select, and you have to finish it via again Alt+Shift+A.
A lot of pc-based commercial editors have (fast) column mode selecting via the mouse (rightclick and drag). So without explicitly having to set the editor to columnmode you can just do a rightmouse click at the column you want to start the selection ... drag the mouse (still with the rightmouse down) ... and the column-select is done.
We miss this in Eclipse. Could this be added to the next version of Eclipse ? Would be great !

Hi Kitesurfer.
The best way to get the attention of the Eclipse developers is to engage
them directly via a bug/issue report.
I recommend that you open a new bug against Platform/Text:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Platform
Since--based on the other message you posted in this forum--you seem to
have some skill with Eclipse, any request you make will carry a lot
more weight if it's accompanied by a patch and a general willingness to
contribute to the open source project.
HTH,
Wayne
