BIRT + web application [message #988324] Thu, 29 November 2012 07:06 Go to next message

Hi

I'm new in BIRT.
I want to know could I create a chart and open it by web browser?

for example:
I have a web application project, my IDE is e-clips.
in one page, I need to show my result by charts and graphs.

can I import BIRT chart in my page, which at the end it can be shown in my browser.

I will be thankful if you help me with that.

You can do this a couple of ways. Use the WTP integration package and add the charting servlet or write your own chart servlet. Another option is to deploy BIRT runtime and build your charts in the BIRT designer. This adds a bit more overhead, but may be a bit more easy to maintain. If you want an example of a chart servlet let me know. There should be one on BIRT exchange.

I apply for your second option, The BIRT runtime.
Now i'm stuck on the integration of BIRT to my web application.
the problem is that i cannot access to //localhost:8080/manager/html

is there any solution?

I am a bit confused. Did you deploy the runtime to tomcat?
