In Eclipse UI, space lacking is a general problem. One instance of this is in dialog boxes. There is many of them with many options and fields.
But in real usages most of times we fill a single text field and keep other unchanged.
For search boxes this main field is text to be searched, for New Class Box is class name, etc.
I propose a minimal mode for such dialog boxes that include
- A text field without any header.
- Its caption can be shown gray as text field value that clears as first character typed.
- Its results can be shown in a minimal box (hover??) under it.
