So I'm having issues with eclipse not finding the jre within the jdk after I updated Java. I tried the instructions on editing the .ini file, but it still can't find it, even though I specified the absolute file path. And recommendations? For reference, I'm on Windows 7, SP1, using eclipse 4.2 and Java 1.7 Update 9.

Download and install privately, only for use by Eclipse, a copy of the
Sun JDK you want to use. Then indicate it in eclipse.ini using the -vm
option. From then on, you're free from worrying about what version of
Java you're running on your OS and how it affects Eclipse.

That fixed it. Irony is that it only recognizes the JDK installed in the program files (x86) folder for the workspace, not the private jre inside of the eclipse folder.
