Spring 3.2 without OSGi meta-data? [message #902219] Thu, 16 August 2012 08:20 Go to next message

I downloaded Spring 3.2 Milestone 1 and noticed that the jars are missing the OSGi meta-data. I posted about this on the Spring forums yesterday but so far have not received any reply:

[sorry I can't post the link here due to the link restriction -- see the topic description above]

Does anyone here have more information about this?

As far as I know, Spring 3.2 and beyond will not ship by default with OSGi metadata anymore, but I guess those OSGi-ified versions will be shipped by the Virgo project maybe?

Springsource is drawing back from the OSGi space. Is this the signal Springsource or VMWare wants us to send? Putting a small step at the end of continuous build to generate the OSGi Manifest isn't really complicated.

I have lookup the frameworks from Springsource over the years up and down and I didn't found a feasible solution for larger projects other than the Spring DM Server one.

A WAR and Maven, that's all?
