Write or change data in external data source (excel, dataset...) [message #892435] Thu, 28 June 2012 04:32 Go to next message

Hello Jubula users!

I'm wondering, is it possible change some parameter in data source, or Jubula variable, programmatically? For example, in excel document I have parameter 'COUNTER' set to value 1. After test execution, I would like to increment that paramiter, or set some other value, to ensure unique value for another test execution.
Of course, I want to do that automatically, like a part of some test case.

Thanks...

As it might be possible through a separate testcase with executing an external command and sending keys to it, the better solution might be to manipulate the test data for ensuring it is unique.
For example you can pull a timestamp and use (part) of it as postfix for your test data.
