Hi,

I am a Java and Eclipse newbie and just completed the first two Eclipse tutorials.

The tutorial for "SWT" involves declaring and initiating a "Display" object and a "Shell" object. From what I have found on Google so far, the Display object creates a communication with the Window to be displayed and the Operating System and the Shell object handles the actual Window. Is this correct?

This seems the opposite to the way UNIX and other IDE platforms work where the display would be the Window and the Shell allows the environment to communicate with the operating system.

Also, does anyone have any tips or links for learning Eclipse

Thanks in advance

Regards

Ajf
