Hi Folks,

Just spotted in the Ganymede release notes a mention of the
org.eclipse.equinox.security.storage package for secure storage. Can I
just ask if Equinox/the secure storage is suitable for use by standalone
apps? I've had a look round the site but hoped you might be able to point
me at some snippets/starting places if it is or perhaps more about a
general equinox introduction.

Thanks in advance,
Toby

Hi Toby,
It depends on what you mean as a "standalone application". If you are
thinking about an RCP application, when the answer is definitely "yes".
There is some documentation in the Eclipse help:

Workbench User Guide -> Reference -> Secure storage
and
Platform Plug-in Developer Guide -> Runtime overview -> Security -> Secure
storage

Thanks,
Oleg

Hi,

I'm actually doing a vanilla swt/jface app, so have various jface jars
available. Does it sound reasonable to use equinox in it? I'll be making
it available via webstart if that's a factor...

Cheers,
Toby

Just looking at this again after watching Matt Flahertys secure storage webinar, I added the equinox security bundle and a few dependancies but was hoping for a few pointers / starting references, any clues folks?

Cheers,
Toby
