In the latest release (4.3.1), can I use the New Tech APIs to write an Agent
and 'talk' to a 'custom' launcher (e.g. The EclipseCON 2005 launcher
sample -
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/conferences/eclip seCon2005/index.html).???
I noticed that Randy D Smith mentioned in these forums about the GUI *not*
talking the New APIs.
<quoteRDS>
"The GUI part is currently tied to the *old* RAC APIs."
</quoteRDS>
I created a test Agent using the new APIs, but I am unable to 'launch' it
from the GUI using the above EclipseCON 2005 sample launcher.
TIA

Hi Raj,
The code and configuration in the 'Using TPTP Logging and Monitoring
Tools' tutorial presented at EclipseCon 2005 is specific to Hyades V3.2.0.
Regarding TPTP V4.3.1, Randy is correct in that the TPTP UI still uses
the 'old' execution APIs. However, the 'new' Agent Controller provides a
compatibility layer so the 'old' execution APIs can still be used. For your
situation, I would suggest reading the 'Registering a Custom Data Collection
Mechanism with TPTP's Launch Configuration Framework' document on the TPTP
web site:
