Jubula running on a server [message #779909] |

We are looking at setting up MySQL as our backend database, but a question arose as to where Jubula will be installed. Can Jubula be installed on a server or does it only support installation on a PC? If it can be installed on a server can you tell me which types it supports and whether there are any issues regarding a server installation. Thanks!

Hi,
Yes the scenario you describe is possible. We also use two databases - one where the tests are "in development", and one that is used for the nightly tests. This lets us work on tests, and decide which versions of the project get put into the productive database, and how often. In terms of the execution, we have a slightly different setup - we have Jubula installed on various virtual machines to allow parallel testing on different platforms. For each parallel test, one Jubula installation is required (because the testexec can only run one test at a time). The systems we test on remain Windows Vista, XP, 7, Linux and Mac - so we don't perform any specific server systems testing. I don't think it should be a problem though.
HTH,
Alex

Hello,
We are doing something similar, we are running Jubula via testexec as a Microsoft TFS Build Target.
The MS Build Agent is Running on Windows 7 Hardware and HyperV Machines.
So on each build machine, we do execute also execute the Jubula Tests.
Until now this is working quite good for UI tests although the TFS Build Agent is running only as a service.
