Store preferences permanently [message #760777] Mon, 05 December 2011 04:14 Go to next message

We user Eclipse Indigo and WindowBuilder 1.1.0.r37 in a multiuser/shared configuration scenario in our school. We want all students to use the same set of preferences for WindowBuilder and have created an epf file containing those options.

Unfortunately WindowBuilder seems to store the preferences in the workspace and not under osgi.configuration.area. That means that all users have to import the preferences again when a new workspace is created (e.g. when a students takes our preinstalled Eclipse home in a zip file).

Is there a way to get the preferences into the shared configuration space?

thanks in advance

I'm not aware about plugins which store settings outside of workspace.
You could distribute second zip file with pre-configured workspace.
