Specifying only the JNDI details for report template? [message #758614] Wed, 23 November 2011 16:36 Go to next message

I have a web app running on WebLogic 11g and I want to have report templates on the server and have them use JNDI to lookup their datasources, username, pasword, that stuff. I was trying to use the report designer to do this, but when I try to set up the datasource I cannot leave the database url, password and username information blank. I would ideally like to have the report templates set up and ready to go on the app server waiting for my app to build new reports. Is the JNDI stuff something that I'd have to include in my app so that when I grab the report template I'd perform the lookup and then set the templates' datasource?

Have you tried the connection profile? You could also specify url and
user/pwd that are not valid, but use a valid jndi entry.
