Hi all,

I just installed Eclipse from the ubuntu packages and can't use the familiar shortcuts for navigating the tree (right-arrow opens a subtree, left-arrow closes the subtree or goes to the parent folder etc.)
I also can't find the settings for these shortcuts in the preferences. Anybody knows how to adjust them?

Regards,
rara

Hi

The default Gnome/Ubuntu keyboard shortcuts interfere with the ones
of Eclipse. In order for all Eclipse shortcuts to work properly, you
need to disable/reassign most if the shortcuts in the Gnome/Ubuntu
settings.

Hi Michael,
thanks for your reply. I did not mention though that I use kubuntu with kde, not ubuntu with gnome. Anyway, I can't believe that a simple press of the arrow keys should interfere with any global desktop shortcuts.

The problem is that the native Gtk-Widget doesn't expand/collapse using
ARROWS because there the underlying control allows to have multiple
columns [1].

Could try SHIFT+ARROW like described here [2].
