[Xpand/Xtend 1] What future can Xpand/Xtend expect? [message #755540] |

Hi,
Xtend2 is a young, but already a popular language. My congratulations to
the Xtend2 team with this success.
However, Xtend2 lacks some features that were available in old good
Xtend. For example, it's very difficult to use Xtend2 for M2M and M2T
transformations of dynamic EMF models or UML Profiled models, while
pluggable type system of Xtend1 made it quite easy. That's why it's
natural to ask what can we expect from Xtend1/Xpand1 in the future.
Are you going to implement new features?
How actively are you going to fix existing or newly reported bugs and
enhancements?
How many developers are going to work on this project?
For how many releases do you expect Xpand/Xtend1 to be a part of Eclipse
release train?
Any information regarding the future of Xpand/Xtend would be appreciated
by me and other people who used the old Xpand/Xtend for model to model
or for model to text transformations.
Thanks,

I'm sorry, but I have to say that we don't plan to add support for a
pluggable type system in the near future.
