Hi,

I am trying to launch an AGR testsuite using the Agent Controller on Red Hat
Ent. Linux 4. I am using the TPTP plug-ins from the 4.2.0.2 release.

I followed the documentation 'Getting Started with Agent Controller - Linux
on IA32', and have configured and started the RAServer as indicated.
However, when I launch a testsuite using a lunch configuration the process
times out. I am able to launch a testcase using the quick launch feature.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks,
Heidi

Hi Heidi,

Can you please try and launch any other test suite under your environment
(e.g. a manual and a TPTP junit test suite). If you experience similar
problems launching other test suites, then the problem is caused by the test
execution harness which is shared amongst all test suites.
Does the AC's log indicate anything useful? You can locate the log file
under <AC-HOME>/config/servicelog.log.
What percentage does the launch process get stuck on?

Thanks,
Ali M.

Thanks Ali,

When I launch the AGR test-suite it gets to around 21% then it hangs for a
while, and eventually times out. A second instance of Eclipse is not
launched.

I'm not familar with other types of test-suites, but I have tried to launch
a manual and a TPTP junit test suite. The TPTP junit test suite seems to
run fine. The manual test appears to error out during the execution of the
tests phase (38%). I cannot get the Manual Test View window to open. I get
an error in the .execution file stating my MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME path is not
set. I have tried to set this as an environment variable, but I don't
really understand what it is used for.

I have attached the servicelog.log file that was created by attempting to
launch an AGR test-suite.

Thanks again,
Heidi

Hi Heidi,

I was able to launch a test suite on Red Hat Linux Enterprise 2.6.9-5. The
log file that you have attached doesn't indicate any unusual problems. Can
you check to see if the workspace for the second workbench gets created? By
default the workspace is created under
${workspace_loc}/../auto-gui-workspace, where ${workspace_loc} is the
workspace location used to launch the test suite from. If the workspace is
there, then please check the .metadata/.log file to see if anything unusual
is reported there.

Thanks,
Ali Mehregani

Hi Ali,

I am still trying to get my AGR tests to launch when using our internal
plug-ins. It seems as though something within our zip file of plug-ins is
over-writing a configuration file. When I launch my AGR tests, it is using
default launch parameters from somwhere that say it should launch using
motif instead of gtk. I would like to know where it takes the launch
parameters from. I have tried to set it to use gtk in Window ->
Preferences - Plug-in Development - Target Platform - Launching arguments.

Thanks,
Heidi

The launching arguments under the Plug-in Development preference page is not
honored by the auto GUI launch delegate. TPTP 4.2.1 or a later build,
allows users to specify JVM arguments under the overview page of the test
suite editor. I don't have any convenient mechanism for the user to specify
program arguments. If you need to specify program arguments, you can
register a different execution object adapter. From TPTP's cvs, extract
test/org.eclipse.tptp.test.auto.gui and look under:

src/org.eclipse.tptp.test.auto.gui.internal.runner/AutoGUIEx ecObjAdapter

This file is registered in the plug-in.xml file. You'll need to modify the
plug-in.xml file to point to a new execution object adapter that will
specify the correct parameters.

Thanks.
