Chart engine: load XML file [message #725359] Wed, 14 September 2011 11:14 Go to next message

Hello,

I'm using chart engine to generate Gantt diagram. The first step uses fake data. It's OK.
Now, I would like to load data from an XML file (generated by an EMF generated editor).

Before loading data, I often see in examples that the Design Engine is used. Why ? an rptdesign is it necessary ?

Then, I don't find example to load data from an XML file. Where can I find it ?

Thanks in advance.

Val,

The Design Engine is not needed, but putting the chart in a report
design allows you to use the birt data sources. In your case you
probably should use an xml parser to get the values from the xml and use
these in your chart.
