I am trying to create a new line series on the beforeFactory Script. I am using the following source code

var ns1 = LineSeriesImpl.create();

var sdNew1 = SeriesDefinitionImpl.create();
sdNew1.getSeriesPalette( ).shift( 10 );

//Get the DataSetHandle Object
var ds= reportContext.getDesignHandle().findDataSet("BlogPosts");
var oda_ds=ds.copy();

ns1.getLabel().setVisible(true);

//This method requires a DataSet Object and I dont know how to get it
//from the DataSetHandle Object
ns1.setDataSet(ds.copy());

var qry1 = QueryImpl.create("row[\"classPK\"]" );
ns1.getDataDefinition().add(qry1)
sdNew1.getSeries().add( ns1 );


I need to feed the ns1 variable with a DataSet object. Does anyone know how I can do this?

If you already have the dataset bound to the chart you should not have
to set the data set. See the attached example that shows how this can
be done.

Jason thank you for your prompt reply, but I am already aware of this example. However in this example only one data set is used. The QueryImpl.create("row[\"QUANTITYORDERED\"]" ); method is used on the same data set as in the first series of the chart. What I want to do is to add a new line series to the chart using a second data set. Do you know how this can be done?

Charts can only be bound to one dataset.

Hm... that's interesting although a bit restricting. I am trying to create a report with two charts instead, each bounded to different data sets. What I have encountered as a problem, which I do not know if it is a bag, is that when creating a new chart,a xml-property is created for the new new data set query with the name set to queryText, which is the same as the name of the same property for the first chart. The thing is that this way I cannot change the queryText through javascript for the different queries for the data sets. Is there a way to solve this issue? Thank you again for your help

You can always create a joint dataset that combines two datasets and use
it as the chart datasource.
