OpenGL support for Draw2D; any news? [message #658709] Wed, 09 March 2011 09:29 Go to next message

Hi all,

I am wishfully waiting for any news on
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=68724
since I ran into painting performance issues with gmf resp. draw2d and
using imagefigures.
Is the intention of an GLGraphics-implementation still up to date?

Regards
Thomas

Thomas, I don't think that OpenGL support will make it into GEF officially, but I think it should be able to pull our OpenGL accelerated Graphics implementation (which is very very fast) and put it into a separate plugin which you could distribute with your application. If you are interested in doing this, get in touch with me and I'll help you along.
