Build a product without doing site.p2? [message #652837] Mon, 07 February 2011 04:58 Go to next message

The standard method of building a product is to run the Buckminster standard #site.p2 action, and then run a #create.product (or #crear.product.zip) action (which is not included with Buckminster, but there is a standard way to set it up).

In my case, I want a product (it doesn't need to be zipped), but I don't need a p2 site. Is there a way I can do this using Buckminster without creating a p2 site?

Currently, we use PDE build from an Ant script, and our developers sometimes use the "Eclipse Product export wizard" from the IDE.

Hi Matthew,

Eclipse products are built from p2 repositories using p2. I don't think there's any other way to do it. If you don't
need the repository, then just delete it once the product has been created. If I'm not mistaking, that's exactly what
the "Eclipse Product export wizard" does.
