What's the common way to do user rights? [message #649258] Tue, 18 January 2011 07:59
Eclipse UserFriend
Dear RCP-developers,

I just ask frankly to get some clues:
What is the common way to implement user rights in RCP applications?

I read Bug#201052 thread and wonder if it is still up-to-date now since it dates from 2007...2008?
It describes the Activities (and probably SourceProvider?) based declarative way of doing it.

Did it evolve in the meantime? e.g. is there a bridge to JAAS or Eclipse User Rights?

Any other solutions around that might fit (Riena, Spring security) or are even better than it?

Requirements are roughly the same as in above mentioned bug / enhancement.

Any feedback appreciated Smile
Chris
