gitweb & eclipse (moving the .git folder to public_git) [message #646485]

I have the .git folder and my source code located at
/home/david/public_html/my_project

Because I'm using gitweb I just want to move the .git folder to
/home/david/public_git

I can import /home/david/public_git/.git but the problem is that eclipse can't find my source code in /home/david/public_html/my_project because they're separated.

How do I configure eclipse so that the .git folder and my source code are separated?
