Community: When would we benefit from a STEM Community Conference?
As our community grows are we getting close to a time when we should consider a conference for workshop for the STEM Community?
When might we be ready (next summer or fall?)?
Would Europe be the right location?
Are there conference Venue's we could combine with?
What topics should we try to cover?
Who outside the community should we invite?
What groups might be interested in supporting an event like this?
Thank you for considering this idea.

As this institute has a long history with UCUM and related healthcare
standards, they could be interested to host or participate:
http://www.regenstrief.org/
In case a US venue was preferred, else Looking at OHT as mentioned could
really be a good idea.
They have 2011 Board meetings scheduled already:
http://www.openhealthtools.org/boardmeetings
Those seem exclusively US-based, but some co-located with common Healthcare
or HL7 events.
MDHT, another former OHF project at OHT seems pretty much Eclipse based,
too:

A key contributor, GE Healthcare's Keith Boone joined my LinkedIn network a
few weeks ago, as I came across a UCUM conversion table he published on his
website.
I didn't formally invite him to UOMo UCUM, but also for events like this GE
could be a useful partner not just for a US venue.
Some new OHT members like Cardiff University offer further European options.
Although "Dr. Who" entirely shot in Cardiff has little to do with Healthcare
;-)
