Please help.
I can copy and paste the XML code from a report created in BIRT into a file, but how do you load an XML file into BIRT?

I have seen several examples of reports, but I do not know how to load them. In particular the examples supplied. I tried creating a new blank report and pasting the XML into the XML page but it did not work.

I have followed the tutorials and can create reports. I now need to get more complex and the examples are supposed to show more features, so I need to load them.

Chris,

I assume you mean copying report xml from messages and pasting them into
a report? Just create a new report and select the xml view. Paste over
the xml with the xml from the message.

When you do this sometimes you will get an error on the third line:
Build <2.5.2.v20100210-0630>

If you do just remove the build portion of the property.
