UML Action Language (UAL) in Eclipse? [message #628003] Fri, 23 October 2009 03:37 Go to next message

Hi!

As you may know there is an ongoing effort in OMG to define a UML Action Language (UAL):

http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?ad/2008-9-9

As I understand the OMG plan is to have a specification ready early next year, but that may of course be delayed...

Does any one of you know if there are any plans or initiatives to include support for UAL in the Eclipse UML2 project, e.g. by providing support for parsing UAL (and converting to e.g. fUML and/or the Eclipse UML2 Ecore model)?

Erik,

I would be interested in contributing to the development of Eclipse
UML2-based tooling for the UML Action Language, maybe by starting from
the code for the TextUML Toolkit (TextUML includes action semantics
support). Well, *if* I knew what the UML AL might look like.
Unfortunately, AFAIK, only OMG members have access to the proposals at
this point.

To learn more the action semantics support in TextUML, see:

Cheers,

Rafael
