Hello all,

I'm a new user (and hopefully future developer) of the ecf and I was
wondering if there already are syndicated feed API's, tutorials or plug-ins.

Sincerely,

Michael Wiwchar

We have some work (but not enough) on feeds.

First, here's the root of the appropriate CVS tree for the materials
referred to below: :pserver:anonymous@dev.eclipse.org:/cvsroot/technology

We have an RSS-SSE provider implemented here

provider/org.eclipse.ecf.provider.rss

This provider implements the an RSS-SSE client. The provider name is
ecf.provider.rss.client and the implementation class is
org.eclipse.ecf.internal.provider.rss.container.RssClientSOC ontainer.
See the 'main' method in that class for some test code. (This should be
generalized and moved into a new test plugin, which I will create if
desired).

This rss-sse feed class implements the datashare 'mergeable' api i.e.

org.eclipse.ecf.datashare.mergeable.IMergeableChannelContain erAdapter

which is in the org.eclipse.ecf.datashare plugin (datashare API).

We have not been able to do much with either the datashare mergeable api
or the rss-sse provider implementation recently...which is a shame. It
might also be good to have another (new) API. Hopefully you can help us
fix the current limitations, as I would like to use/distribute this code
much more.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,

I'm willing to give it a shot as long as people are willing to answer
the (hopefully occasional) questions I'll have.

Sincerely,

Michael Wiwchar

Absolutely. You might want to join the ecf-dev mailing list:

https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/ecf-dev

as that's typically the way that the ECF committers interact more
closely with contributors (also filing bugs/enhancement requests at
bugs.eclipse.org and the wiki at http://wiki.eclipse.org/ECF...a
bugzilla account will get you write access to the wiki).

Thanks!

Scott
