View for displaying information for java files opened in the editor. [message #605664]

Hello,
I want to create a view that shows information about selected java elements from an opened file in the java editor. I have an understanding of of the different viewers, label/content provider. But the problem is that I cant find any information on how to get the java model in the content provider and how the viewer to change the input when another file is opened ...I guess I have to do something in the inputChanged method.
Any information on that will be great ! :)
