Can DTP/ODA be used outside Eclipse [message #596830] Sun, 22 November 2009 06:10 Go to next message

Hi all,

I was wondering how much the DTP project depends on Eclipse. Or, in essence, can I use it to connect to data sources in a custom Java application?

And what would I (roughly) need to do if I wanted this? Can I reuse some of the wizards provided with ODA and the ODA drivers etc.?

Thanks in advance!

Joos

Hi Joos,

The ODA framework uses Eclipse extension points and the OSGi class loading framework to handle the discovery and loading of ODA driver extensions. So all the dependent Eclipse core bundles would need to be included when used in a custom Java appl.
