Hi Folks,
I have been using Mylyn for a while, and I believe it has been a
great experience using it. It has changed the way I work with my code, and
helped me get organized and focused â It has reduced the data overhead
in my head. I would like to appreciate the work done by the Mylyn team.
There exist a lot of tools integrating and talking advantage of mylyn and
it's interesting to see the way they have used it. I would like to do the
same as part of my project. I work on a modeling tool. I have seen the
diagram explorer and other views packed with a lot of UML and BPMN
diagrams, which introduces a lot of data overhead and seems ugly.
Introduction of Filtering support, task creation and automatic context
management would seem interesting and help users to get focused while
modeling. Presenting users with the diagram elements specific to the task
would make it more interesting.
I went through the "Mylyn Integrator Reference". I couldn't find
example/document on using mylyn API that would make things much simpler to
understand. It would be nice if someone could point me to the right
article/example for the same. Secondly I would also like to get some
suggestions regarding the approach for implementing the above idea. On my
side I have started exploring the monitor example provided as part of the
sandbox.
