audio chat [message #591963] Fri, 16 December 2005 12:12 Go to next message

Hi,

I'd like to point out that Google and Jabber project published
Jingle specification, which extend XMPP for use in voice over IP
(VoIP), video, and other peer-to-peer multimedia sessions. See more at
http://google-code-updates.blogspot.com/2005/12/jingle-bells .html

I believe Google Talk is already implemented this and they puglshed
open source library Libjingle used by Google talk at
http://code.google.com/apis/talk/index.html

regards,
Eugene

Thanks...we will check this out.

In case you weren't aware, ECF already has an XMPP provider...and that provider does allow using ECF with the Google Talk/Gmail service as a client.

We are/will be moving very aggressively (as much as possible given our resource limitations anyway) to support the XMPP extensions like the google voip extension (we already support the XMPP group chat extension incidently).

Thanks...very helpful. It's appreciated.
