create gmon.out (gprof) witin Eclipse [message #569782]

How could I create the gmon.out file *within Eclipse*? I was reading the GProf User Guide. I clicked on the C project properties and inserted -pg under Miscellaneous. When I clicked "buld all", the output in the console window showed that the gcc compiler has not used the -pg option. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
