problems in e4 with opening debug perspective? [message #564406]

Since switching to e4 and doing plugin development, I've noticed that while I can manually open various debug-related views, and I can reply 'yes' in situations where the IDE asks if I want to open the Debug perspective, for some reason it never actually opens the Debug perspective. Is this a known issue right now? (I was unable to find a reference to it, at least not in the e4 forum.) BTW, does anybody know how to search just the e4 part of the forum for something, rather than having the search go across all forums?

The e4 tech preview 0.9 tries to host much of the legacy framework on the modeled workbench. But it's what I would call an alpha :) Many of the behaviours in the Java Editor, Debugging, etc are not yet supported properly.

We're in the middle of a re-write in 1.0 (the model has changed significantly and we're working on making pure e4 versions of the 20 things available [1] ). The current builds no longer host the legacy framework as such.

Instead we are providing 1.0 I builds that are a 3.6 version of the workbench with the tools [2] needed to develop an e4 application (we are heading towards the legacy hosting goal, but it will be a while before we get there).

Thanks, Paul. I was actually working from the 1.0M1 build rather than 0.9, so totally expected that certain things wouldn't work. I could have sworn that I'd gotten to the debug perspective at one point, but I must have been remembering switching back temporarily to work on something using 3.5 (day-to-day we use Eclipse as a dev environment, we're just looking at doing our next release using RCP under e4.)
