Managing requirements for multiple product variants is a problem due to
the difficulty of specifying how requirements may vary between products.
CaliberRM™ users now have a solution to this problem - pure::variants
Synchronizer - an add-in for the pure::variants toolset.

Synchronizer allows your existing CaliberRM™ Requirements Projects to be
exported to pure::variants as Feature Models. pure::variants’ rich
modelling language is then used to specify relations and constraints
between requirements e.g. that two requirements are mutually-dependent.
This enriched model is then used to specify the requirements for
individual variants, and, ultimately to drive the generation of the
software for the variant. The resulting models may then be imported back
into CaliberRM™ e.g. to allow traceability from requirements to product
variants.

The benefits of pure::variants Synchronizer for CaliberRM™ include:

- Use of your existing CaliberRM™ Projects without further work
- Automatic detection and resolution of problems caused by conflicting
requirements.
- Full traceability of requirements to individual product variants.

Visit http://www.software-acumen.com/purevariants/ for more information or
to download an evaluation version of pure::variants.

Software Acumen is the UK’s only specialist provider of tools and services
to organizations developing Software Product Lines – like assembly lines
but for software. The company distributes pure::variants in the UK and
Ireland on behalf of pure::systems GmbH. CaliberRM is a Registered
Trademark of Borland Software Corporation.
