Increase column width in excel report [message #555466]

Hi,

I created an excel specific report which has a 10 column table. I set the width of each column to be 10% of the total width of the table (100%). The excel report that was generated shows the info successfully but the column width is very small. I tried changing the column width to 20% and the total width of the table to 200% and the result is still the same. Is there any way to increase column width in excel report? I understand that we can do it manually but I am looking for a solution that doesn't require us to do that.

please advise.

Neil,

What version are you using? Also can you try setting it using point or
inches? Is the report set to fixed layout?

Hi,

I tried using point/inch but they don't work. The version I am using is 2.3.2 and the report is in auto layout.

Neil,

Sorry about the delay, I did not see your response. Did you try fixed
layout?

Neil,

I think this may have been fixed in later versions of birt. Take a look
at the attached example. In the second column I went into the advanced
properties to set the width of the data item, then I set the width of
the column. I exported to xls and the proper width showed up in xls.
