I want to connect to a kdb database but having no luck.
KDB offers both web based connection or jdbc but I can't get it working either. So far I have downloaded jdbc.jar from kx but I get the following error:

Could not connect to asd.
Error creating ODA Connection Factory connection to asd. (Error: There is an error in get connection, No suitable driver found for jdbc:kx://t[hostnae]:[port].)
There is an error in get connection, No suitable driver found for jdbc:kx://[hostname]:[port].

I guess that my connection string is bad or else the jdbc.jar is not the correect one...
Anyway please share with me how I can connect to a kdb database.

Thank you!

Can you check to verify that the jdbc.jar driver is actually copied to
the designer's
plugins/org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_version/driver s directory.

I am not familiar with KDB but do you not have to put the db in the url
like this:

jdbc:mysql://localhost/mydb

Jason, thank you for the reply. I have checked that the driver is indeed copied as follows:

Directory of C:\Program Files\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.
jdbc_2.6.0.v20100524\drivers

17/08/2010 08:20 PM <DIR> .
17/08/2010 08:20 PM <DIR> ..
17/08/2010 08:20 PM 41,358 jdbc.jar
13/08/2010 09:53 AM 173,714 nzjdbc.jar
12/08/2010 11:59 PM 1,996,228 ojdbc5.jar
13/08/2010 08:12 AM 2,111,220 ojdbc6.jar
09/06/2010 08:07 PM 80 readme.txt

Also, I had the connection string from the below site:

http://www.kx.com/a/kdb/connect/jdbc/jdbc.txt

Where do you specify the db at?
