Hi,

in a previous post
( http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=tree&goto=5509 41&S=4f7bc0accca651b4c1a6be48f40a306f)
I asked a question about icons in the palette and an iterative way of
developing editors.

Kindly, Louis told me that the properties tool.small.bundle and
tool.small.path have been thought to change the default icons in the
palette.

I have tested them, and, effectively, they work. But there are other
two places where icons appear: 1) In the canvas, inside the figures,
just next to the label (as in the filesystem example), and 2) in the
popup menu associated to nodes. The question is these two places remains
with icons as they are by default (with the coloured stars). I'd like to
know if there's any eugenia property to change also icons in these two
locations to avoid copying again and again the icons in the .edit
proyect each time the editor is regenerated.

Thanks in advance,
Toñi

Hi Toni,

I think these icons are taken from the yourmodel.editor bundle generated by EMF. They're stored in the icons/obj16 directory. Overwriting the default icons with your own should fix the problem.

I don't think EuGENia supports generating these files at the moment. Dimitris may have some thoughts on this. I'll ask him to reply here when he's back from vacation.

Cheers,
Louis.

Hi Louis,

I know that overwriting the default icons I can fix the problem. The
point is that as I'm developing iteratively, I have to overwrite them
again and again, and it turns into a tedious task.

Thanks for your fast answer.

Hi Toni,

Yes, I can understand that this approach is not helpful for iterative development. An alternative might be to write an ANT script to overwrite the icons. You could run the ANT script after invoking EuGENia. Admittedly, this is another step to remember, but it's probably less tedious than overwrittng the files by hand.

I've mailed Dimitris about this, and he may have some thoughts when he's back from vacation.

Cheers,
Louis.
