If Tree is created with SWT.CHECK flag, all TreeItems display the checkbox.
This is undesirable.
Every TreeItem should have the method item.showCheckBox(boolean flag) to
enable/disable the display of check-boxes.
(I am not talking of enable/disable. I am talking of showing/not-showing the checkbox itself).

Is there any other way I can do it?

Currently there seems no way of doing it. You can raise a enhancement
request here - https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=Platform
If this feature is feasible on all platforms, they it might be
considered for implementation in the next release.

I already did so.

Any ideas how long does it take for such issues to be fixed?
