.eclipse contains absolute references to home directory [message #520718] Sun, 14 March 2010 16:35 Go to next message

Hi,

I'm exporting / importing eclipse config and workspace (mainly on Linux).
I just noticed that my source .eclipse directory contains a lot of files that contains absolute references to my home directory, in the form "/home/me/..." or "_home_me_...". Some of those files are binary (class, pyc, ...), I suppose I can delete them.

Is there some tools / way to easily export this .eclipse directory to other computer (with different users)? Is it safe to just replace all occurrences as a workaround?

Why are there absolute references instead of relative ones? I just do not understand why I cannot simply copy the config files...

Thanks.
