How out of date is "Creating Eclipse Plugins" for Eclipse 3.5.2? [message #517429] |

Although I've been writing Java code for a long time, and used Eclipse for several years, I've never gotten into writing Eclipse plugins, and I'd like to learn more about that. It appears that the book "Creating Eclipse Plugins" was last published in January of 2009. It refers to Eclipse 3.4 as the latest version. If I'm using Eclipse 3.5.2, how much has writing Eclipse plugins changed since Eclipse 3.4? Will I get sufficient value out of a book that considers Eclipse 3.4 the latest version?

David,
There will be a small set of new things it doesn't cover, but everything
it does cover will remain valid. It's impossible to update a book every
year so books will always quickly be a little behind the times.
