[QVTo] Caption for symbols/icons used in Metamodel Explorer [message #510450]

Hello neverybody. Smile

I again crossed some challenges in the use of QVTo and propably one of you might know the solution.

Some of my Transformation do not work. Comparing them to the Example Transformation (UML->RDB) I came to the point that there are quite a lot of different symbols/icons used in the Metamodel Explorer. So propably I used the wrong keywords and so on in my mappings.

So it would help me a lot if there is some where a caption or legend or something alike for the symbols in the meatmodel explorer. I expect they are the same as used in EMF, but searching did not return any useful results.

Does anyone has an idea? Or in the best case a caption?

I expect it exists somewhere but I just did not find it yet. So sorry for this simple question. Confused

Hi Radek,

i was simply talking about the symbols used in the meat-model explorer.
here is just an example picture:

sry for the blackened areas, this is due to industrial issues.

There are further more symbols used than can be seen in the picture, for example one looks like a gearwheel.

So my question is if there is any changes to find a legend for all those symbols, a mapping from symbols to there denotation?

Hi,

As far as I understood you're looking for description of icons used for
visualizing .ecore models.
For those you'd better look at EMF Docs
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/docs/
Alternatively you can explore org.eclipse.emf.ecore.edit_xxx.jar
plug-in. It contains ./icons/full/obj16 folder where images with
self-described names are located (EClass.gif, EPackage.gif, ..).

As for Metamodel Explorer it utilizes ItemProviderAdapterFactory for
metamodels visualization and custom metamodels can provide their own
images for elements.
