Hi,
is there any documentation about installing the gtk-version of eclipse
with suse 8.0? I have great problems installing all these libraries for
gtk2.0 here. Is there any further help available?
Thanks,

Friedemann Florey

it may be easier to update to SuSE 8.1. On my System running SuSE 8.1 I had
no problems installing eclipse!

I'm trying to run eclipse 2.1 RC2 on my SuSE 8.1 and I'm not
successfull. After extrancting the eclipse-SDK-RC2-linux-gtk.zip to
/opt/eclipse and running the eclipse executable I get:

eclipse: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Please, what I'm doing wrong?

Again, it's my fault. I have to install gtk2 and execute few chmod commands.
