Also, this is one of the goals of the eclipse Mddi project : "The MDDi
project produces an extensible framework and exemplary tools dedicated
to integration of modeling tools in Eclipse".
We are facing the same kinds of issues with the Acceleo project and we
have had to developed a standalone bridge from MOF/JMI (through MDR) to
EMF, but we are expecting a lot from this Mddi project.

Srgjan,
I'm not sure what that effort would involve? I.e., will they use UML2
or be saving UML resources in standard XMI format? The website claims
to be working on Eclipse integration, so maybe this question would be a
good question to ask them. If they have specific needs to support
integration and interoperation we can certainly try to address those,
but at this point, I don't know of any needs in this regard.

It was more a question on whether and how you would test what you
produce. Of course you need produce standard XMI but if no one can
consume it that might hinder acceptance. I think best thing would be if
you take 3-4 major mda frameworks and make automated tests that you
publish. That way you create a feedback loop with the frameworks that
then strive to integrate themselves with you better so you gather
audience. Frameworks that innovate get on the list, those that are stale
get dropped. It should bring interest just like the New and noteworthy
stuff.

Srgjan,
Such a community effort requires involvement from the community, so I
would look to the community members wishing to integrate and inter
operate to provide such tests and the associated feedback. We would
welcome such an effort...
