1) individual plugins and features within the 0.90M3 zips are still at
0.8.0 or 0.8.1 - is this correct ?

2) what does the example feature actually contribute? is it just a
placeholder for future use ?

Edoardo:

JET follows the Eclipse plug-in versioning conventions:

http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Version_Numbering

The net effect is that feature/plug-in versions do not change unless
included content has change. As of 0.9.0 M3, no new work had been committed,
so version numbers stayed the same. The most recent build has moved to 0.9.0
feature/version numbers (on some plug-ins) as I committed work.

I know it is confusing, but the idea is that plug-ins where there is not
change do not provoke needless revisions in dependent plug-ins.
