Hi.

A long time ago (2016 - 2017) I tried to do a contribution of copy/paste functionality to Babel Plugins Message Editor (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=488150) but failed.
We have used an internal version of the Message Editor since, but we will need to enhance our NLS tooling soon, so I fired up my old development environment earlier this week and tried to get it to work with the latest version of Eclipse IDE and Babel Plugins.
There are a lot of problems with this tooling at the moment. The Tapiji stuff in particular but also in Message Editor. Resource leaks, NPEs unregistered listener calls to disposed widgets.

If possible, I would like to become a committer to Babel Plugins and move the project to the gitlab -instance. I have been an Eclipse RCP developer since 2005 and I am also a committer to the Eclipse BIRT project. I do not have that much time to spare, but I should be able to get the project in a usable state at least.

Best regards
/Claes Rosell

Hello Claes,

Eclipse Babel is in the queue for the Eclipse Foundation to move the Eclipse GitHub. https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/2566

It will be at
https://github.com/eclipse-babel/
where the website currently resides.
https://github.com/eclipse-babel/babel-website

Currently the babel source for the plugin and server is still in https://git.eclipse.org/c/babel/plugins.git/
and still uses gerrit for reviews and bugzilla for tracking... but there hasn't been any in a while. The contribution is most welcome! I can work on getting you committer.

I am currently working on the language build aspect to move to Jenkins, which I hope to finish in the next few weeks now that I have the right information and permissions.

-Gerald

Hi again.

What a coincidence. I had no idea that the project was up for migration.
I would very much like to be a committer, since there currently are no active committers to the project.
If I create a Jenkins file for Babel plugins, would you be able to assist me in setting up that build as well?
