Summary
The Eclipse Foundation provides individuals and organizations with a business-friendly environment for open source software collaboration and innovation. Our Eclipse IoT Working Group is the leading open source community for all things IoT, where over 40 companies and hundreds of developers collaborate on 30 different open source projects.
We are looking for our new IoT Program Manager who will be responsible for growing and nurturing our open source IoT ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Engage directly with both developers and technical line of business leaders in the IoT community in driving understanding of the Eclipse IoT value proposition.
Actively source potential projects and recruit companies to join the Eclipse IoT community.
Define, implement, and promote programs that encourage open collaboration with the Eclipse IoT ecosystem and the industry at large, and that raise awareness about our technology portfolio.
Prepare online technical content to promote and educate software developers on the merit of using and adopting the Eclipse IoT platform. The content will include videos, articles, tutorials, webinars, plus other content deemed appropriate.
Monitor the health of the Eclipse IoT platform and ecosystem, and report on a regular basis.
Help create an event plan for the Eclipse IoT community and manage editorial content.
Coordinate project releases and associated deliverables (including: website, documentation, marketing materials, demonstrators) by working in close relationship with companies and individuals developing the Eclipse IoT platform.
Influence Eclipse IoT project roadmaps by identifying problems and opportunities, and suggesting and/or driving implementation of bug fixes or new features.
Prototype or produce proof of concepts demonstrating key platform capabilities, as well as creating/delivering presentations about Eclipse IoT technologies. Candidate will be expected to travel to different IoT related conferences and events in North America and Europe.
Qualifications Required
Minimum of 4 years experience working in the IoT industry
Experience with open source software development and collaboration models.
A passion for technology and how it can help transform organizations
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience writing high quality materials
Experience with participating in open source projects (either as a committer, contributor, or community manager) is a plus.
Demonstrated success in engaging with and influencing developers and/or line of business leaders is a plus
Public speaking experience
Fluent in English with proven proficiency of working in an English business environment.
Willingness to travel (25-50%) Europe and NA mainly.
Preferred
Existing network from a diverse set of communities and social media platforms.
