What is Blinki?
Blinki (formerly named "FireFly"), which will include the open-sourced framework
WebKit for SWT, is part of the Device Software
Development Platform (DSDP) project. Initial feature releases are planned to begin in Q4 '09.
The Blinki project proposes to include the following mobile web frameworks and tools:
- simulated smartphone web previewer framework
- smartphone browser DOM inspector and JavaScript debugger
- web UI rendering kit
- device service access framework
- deployment framework
- educational resources
Released Components
WebKit for SWT (ver. 0.6) is an open-source embeddable JavaTM WebKit browser component developed and hosted by Genuitec. This component can be used in the development of a wide range of Java SWT applications that require integration of rich HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Flash content and functionality.
