  • Make a Nomination for the Eclipse Awards

    Eclipse Awards Each year the Eclipse Foundation gives out Community Awards to honour individuals, projects and technologies that make Eclipse a vibrant community. The call for nominations in 9 categories is open until January 29, 2010. Winners will be announced in a ceremony at EclipseCon in March.

    Run for the Eclipse Board of Directors

    Nominations for the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors are open until January 28, 2010. There are to be 3 elected committer representatives and 3 elected solutions member representatives.

    New Dues Tier Added to Solutions Membership

    A new dues tier has been added to Solutions Membership specific to small organizations and startups. Organizations with fewer than 10 employees or contractors, and revenue less than $1m USD per year may become solutions members for $1,500 per year. For more information, please contact membership@eclipse.org.

    Submit a Paper for the Eclipse & OMG Symposium

    Eclipse and OMG will hold a one-day symposium on June 23, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to discuss the alignment between current OMG specifications and implemented Eclipse software, and to identify areas where the cooperation could be further improved in the future. Position papers of up to 600 words are requested by February 24, 2010.

    We're sponsoring EclipseCon 2010 Sponsorship opportunities for EclipseCon 2010 are still available to Eclipse members. Act quickly as many sponsor options are limited in availability and some items are already sold out. As well, options like booth location are selected on a first-come, first-choice basis.

    Recent Project Proposals

    Dynamic Enterprise Application Platform Project (Virgo)
    Virgo will provide a runtime platform for the development of server-side enterprise applications built on top of Equinox, and optionally using modules from the Gemini project.
    Enterprise Modules (Gemini)
    Gemini will focus on the integration of existing Java enterprise technologies into module-based platforms and the implementation of enterprise specifications for module-based platforms.
    Graphiti will provide an easy to use and well structured plain Java API for building graphical tools and will limit the dependencies of the framework to an absolute minimum to support RCP-like scenarios.
    JavaScript Development Tools (JSDT)
    JSDT aims to evolve and better promote JavaScript-based development technologies by providing a rich set of tools for the development of non-trivial software using JavaScript.
    Modeling Team Framework (MTF)
    MTF will provide a mechanism like a meta repository on top of SVN, CVS and GIT. It will track the mapping between metamodel versions and editor plugins, and automatically provide P2-based update sites.
    Mylyn Reviews
    The Mylyn Reviews project will do reviews based on Mylyn tasks, filter the review scope, provide inline-commenting for source code reviews and incorporate the review tasks in the Mylyn task list.
