[Howto] turn on "Label Decorators" for CVS in Eclipse 2.1? [message #32296] Tue, 20 May 2003 16:01 Go to next message

WinXp, R2.1

in eclipse 2.0.2 (and 2.0 even), it was possible to get the
PackageExplorer and Outline Views to show what Eclipse calls "Label
Decorators" (not to be confused with icon-decorators) on the
file/class-names -- this does not appear to be possible in 2.1, or at
least I can no longer find/identify the affordance to turn it on. Is
there a way to do it?

Thanks,
Paul K

Can you give an example of what kind of label decoration you are asking
about? Maybe then we can point you in the right direction.

Um, didn't realise that was ambiguous. In Eclipse 2.0, one could do
<something> and then see a little ">" after any resource that had been
modified; likewise a "*" attached to any resource that was new; likewise a
number (stating the version #) after any resource already known to CVS.
These "LabelDecorators" were visible both in the PackageExplorer and in the
Outline Views.

Thanks,
Paul K

The above is used to enable them. To configure the CVS decorator itself:
Window > Preferences > Team > CVS > Label Decorations

Right -- thanks to both -- I had somehow found the configuration-panel that
Daniel mentiones, but not the "turn it on" panel that Adam mentions; now all
is well.

Thanks,
