I would like to be able to programmatically open multiple instances of a
view as fastviews.

The initial configuration of my perspective (P) would be a single view
(ViewA) occupying the entire viewing area. When a user clicks a button in
this view, an instance of a view (ViewB) would open as a fastview in P, in
a position I would specify, and its icon would be added to the fastview
bar. When a user clicks another button in ViewA, a different instance of
ViewB would open as a fastview, replacing the first. There would now be
two ViewB icons in the fastview bar. As with any fastview, clicking in
ViewA would hide ViewB.

Could you please help with a snippet to illustrate what I would need to do
to accomplish this, if indeed it is possible to do this?

I'm using Eclipse 3.2.

Thanks,
Chad
